GQ Men of the Year Awards, Eye-candy
As you know, GQ India celebrated 16 inspirational Indian men (and 2 outstanding women) leaders who shone brightest in their field from sports to politics, film, literature, business and fashion at Grand Hyatt Mumbai on Sunday, 27th September. Watch my videos here!
Hosted by Rahul Khanna (in an Armani suit no less) and a series of super sexy presenters & winners. I saw, Abhay Deol, Irrfan Khan, Shashi Tharoor, Karan Johar and Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Omar Abdullah, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Saif Ali Khan, Lara Dutta, Kareena Kapoor, Karan Johar, Malaika Arora Khan, Katrina Kaif, Chitrangada Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Dino Morea, Farhan & Adhuna Akhtar, Shobhaa De, Esha Gupta, Queenie Dhody, Simone Singh, A.D. Singh, Harsh Mariwala, Tanya Dubash, Nandita Mathani, Kalyani Chawla, Yash Birla, Manish Malhotra, Narendra Kumar, Chitrangada Singh, Sophie Chowdhary, Sheetal Mafatlal, Atul Kasbekar, Rita Dhody, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Arjun Khanna, Aki Narula and the thalassemia patient Nafisa Piludiya, who was called on stage to meet her hero and Lifetime Achievement awardee Amitabh Bachchan (for approximately 10 seconds.)
Er.. who’s Jacqueline Fernandez? That’s easy, a beauty queen from Sri Lanka who competed in Miss Universe 2006. She has started her acting debut from the Hindi movie “Aladin” in 2009 directed by Sujoy Gosh along with some well known Indian stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt.
The PR packet: “The dance troupe ‘Flawless’ (ah that’s what they were called) shot to fame on the show “Britain’s Got Talent” and have worked with some of the world’s biggest stars from Madonna to Beyonce Knowles, performed at the awards night. Setting the bar for a new breed of electric violinists, ‘Fuse’ an electric rock violin duo with a difference took centre stage and enthralled the audience” (while the audience took a drinks break!) “Guests partied into the wee hours of the morning to the pulsating music of UK’s best loved DJ Gordon Edge and his signature trumpet tunes at China House.” (This is true, I have pictures!)
Psst! The Men of the Year issue is timed with GQ’s first anniversary and hits stands
on 1st October across India. GQ India: Look sharp. Think smart.
